About me

I try to bring a warm and down to earth approach to my practice and always work through a trauma informed lens.

During my counselling training, I had the opportunity to work within a Primary School as a Play Therapist. I worked creatively with children using toys, games, art, and storytelling—to help children express feelings and experiences they may not yet have the words for. Through play, I was able to understand the child’s inner world, build trust, and support emotional, social, and behavioural development in a safe, natural way.

The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study underpins much of my work, especially when working with adults with trauma. A clear understanding of the links between childhood trauma and mental and physical illness in adulthood is essential for me as a therapist.

Much of my experience is grounded in years of working with behavioural and substance-based addictions, mostly within the 12-step recovery community. This population has given me a strong understanding of the complex, emotional and relational challenges that often sit alongside these experiences.

Background and Holistic Roots
My earlier work as a yoga teacher and holistic therapist continues to shape my integrative approach, particularly my understanding of embodiment, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and spiritual exploration.

I bring these perspectives into therapy gently and ethically. They inform my compassionate way of working and support the integration of mind–body awareness within sessions.
